Living Room Dinning Room Renovation
Date March 2020
This dated beige washed open concept living and dining room was in need of modernization. We wanted to keep the design open and inviting, and the alcove under the stairs was the perfect place to install a home bar feature.
The first thing we wanted to do was remove the dated acoustic ceilings and smooth them out before installing crown molding all around the main living and dinning area. A modern cool tone paint color was chosen to reflect light from the main window and give the space a calming and breezy feeling. We wanted to keep the colors simple but add pops of navy blue with the drapes and furniture to add a modern feel to the calming nature the client was looking for.
The space had to be functional as well as practical for a family with children so we kept as much open space in the design for small children to be able to run and play.
The dinning room which is right off the living room was updated to flow into the design of the living room and navy dinning room chairs were used to create a unified feel throughout the space.
The home bar was created for entertaining and a beautiful Portuguese writing table was used as the bar. Wooden panels were installed to create a unique design feature and create the separate bar area.
